Position Summary

The Programme and Communication Associate will support the design, implementation, and monitoring of projects while also leading the organization’s internal and external communication efforts. This dual-role position requires a proactive, creative, and organized individual capable of handling multiple tasks and engaging with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Support

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of program activities.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare activity reports, and contribute to donor reporting.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and documentation of project outcomes.
  • Liaise with community partners and stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of program objectives.
  • Contribute to proposal writing, budgeting, and fundraising initiatives.

Communication

  • Develop and implement a communication strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and programs.
  • Produce engaging content including blog posts, newsletters, social media updates, press releases, and reports.
  • Maintain and update the organization’s website and social media platforms.
  • Design communication materials such as flyers, brochures, and infographics.
  • Coordinate media relations, manage press inquiries, and build relationships with journalists and influencers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Development Studies, Public Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in programme implementation and communications, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools (e.g., Canva, WordPress, Mailchimp, social media platforms).
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Experience with Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) tools.
  • Graphic design, photography, or video editing skills.
